The Seventh Wine Festival, which is sponsored by Municipality of  Palilula, was held in Nis from 21st of September untill 23rd of September, and it was opened in the Army House of Serbia on behalf of the Mayor Boban Džunić by Ivica Stojanovic, member of the municipality council. He welcomed the participants of this year's festival, especially visitors from Italy, and said that wine has a rich tradition in these parts, long before the birth of Constantine. In the Municipality of Palilula, after the liberation from the Turks, grape growing has become a leading economic activity. "For the first seven years of existence, the festival, according to organizers, managed to improve and develop culture of drinking wine, and its production." With wine producers, Festival is supported by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, Nis Tourist Organization, Association of hospitality and tourism workers of Nis, Association "Dante Alighieri". Along with Wine Festival, there was also the "sixth competition in preparing grill", organised by the Association of hospitality and tourism workers of Nis. According to Zoran Mirašević, caterers cooking with wine, make a whole. Wine Festival will move to 22nd and 23rd of September at the Square of King Milan, where visitors will have an opportunity to taste the products. (ЕКОполис, Д.Видојковић)
